How to care for your Lash Extensions
Now that you’ve gotten a full set of beautiful lash extensions, it’s important to take a few measures to prolong their lifespan and prevent premature fallout.
Here’s how to care for your lash extensions:
- Completely avoid getting your lashes wet for at least the first 24 hours. This gives the glue enough time to cure. Forgo washing your face that day, and if you must go to the gym, use a headband to catch your sweat. And, of course, absolutely no tears!
- Be mindful of oil-based skincare products, as oil can break down the glue on your lash extensions.
- Avoid getting too much makeup on your eyes. Drop the mascara; you don’t want to use it on your beautiful extensions, and you don’t need it anymore.
- Avoid direct contact with heat, including your blow dryer!
- Do not curl your lash extensions.
- Brush your lashes daily to keep them looking fresh and tidy.
- Do not pull or tug on your lash extensions, as this can damage your natural lashes.
- Try to sleep on your back or side. Use a silk pillowcase or a satin sleep mask to prevent anything from tugging on your lashes while you sleep.
- Book your next appointment for an infill every 2–3 weeks.
- Most importantly, wash your lashes every single day. A buildup of oils, makeup, and dirt can cause your lashes to fall off quickly, so keeping them clean is crucial.
